The Town of Hempstead accepts volunteers for 4 of their programs: Bowling, Swimming, Saturday Recreation and the 6-week Summer Camp. To learn more, please visit the "programs" page above.

The Camp Anchor volunteer program is very competitive and therefore there are only opportunities to be put on the wait list two times per year. The next opportunities to get onto the volunteer wait list are:

FWS 2020-2021- At this time, we are not accepting new volunteer applications for our FWS 2020-2021 season.
SUMMER 2021- Unfortunately, due to the large number of past volunteers, there will not be a call-in date for brand new volunteers for the Summer of 2021. Only volunteers who have previously volunteered and volunteers who were (prior to the pandemic) accepted for the Summer of 2020 are eligible to volunteer. Please check back at campanchor.org for future availability.

Please call the Town of Hempstead Camp Anchor Office @ (516) 431-6946 on these dates to place your name on the waitlist. Requests by e-mail are not accepted.

Fall/Winter/Spring: Must be 14 by October 1.
Summer: Must be 14 by July 1.
